Residents living in detached homes (within 8 km by road) of these fire stations may get a reduced cost for fire insurance rates. Insurers use information provided by the Fire Underwriters Survey to set rates in Canada. Most insurance companies consider this accreditation when calculating insurance rates.
You need to provide the certificate of accreditation to your insurance company to qualify for a lower rate. You may also need to provide a letter from Richmond Hill Fire and Emergency Services.
